Once a sleepy sea-side town, Hua
Hin now boasts all the modern amenities needed for a wonderful
holiday, yet still retains its Thai charm in the small side
streets and old town area. There is a Royal Palace here so the
nightlife is more sedate, the array of restaurants, bistro's and
shopping opportunities dictate as can be seen by the
over-whelming presence of couples of all ages...
In fact,
Royal Hua Hin golf course was the
first 18 hole course in the kingdom, designed by A.O.Robins, a
Scottish engineer, back in the 1920's. Hua Hin really
specializes in golf so there are not that many non-golfing
activities and other places of interest to visit but it can be
included in our "Down
the Elephant's Trunk" touring adventure if you would like a
little bit of "Western" during that trip.
