in
Sri
Lanka
-Royal Colombo Golf Club, Colombo
Established in 1879, the club is located in the heart of
the city. RCGC, as it is popularly known, has played a
prominent role in the development of the game of golf in
Sri Lanka and is the 4th oldest golf course outside of
the UK.
-Victoria Golf Club, Digana
The Victoria Golf Club is
situated 25 km east of Kandy. This Donald
Steel designed course opened in early 1999 and plays to 6,190m
(par 73). A championship golf course,
the fairways are
rather narrow in a hilly country
side. Stately trees and avenues of coconuts lend the
course an immediate air of
maturity. Impressive natural outcrops of rocks are a
distinctive feature and do come into
play as a natural hazard
of the course.
-The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club
This course, which is reputed to be one of Asia's finest is 5'520m (par
71) with long and narrow fairways bordered by fir trees
and thick bushes. It demands
skilful "position play" and the hilly terrain makes it
essential that players can cope
with up-hill and down-hill lies. |
